Hello, February!

Black History Month begins today. We acknowledge the "Father of Black History", Dr. Carter G. Woodson (December 19, 1875 – April 3, 1950), who was a historian, author, journalist and founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. #BlackExcellence #BlackHistoryMonth2021 #February2021 #February1st

Today, #February1st, 2021 marks the 61st anniversary of the historic sit-ins held at Woolworth's in downtown Greensboro, NC by the #GreensboroFour (David Richmond, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair, Jr. and Joseph McNeil) from February 1, 1960, to July 25, 1960. #BlackHistoryMonth2021

Remembering poet, novelist, social activist and playwright whose African-American themes made him a primary contributor to the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s, Langston Hughes (February 1, 1901 – May 22, 1967), on his birthday. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackExcellence #BlackHistoryMonth2021
