#TodayInMovieHistory October 11, 1991 - Ernest Scared Stupid, DIR by John Cherry, and starring Jim Varney, Eartha Kitt, Austin Nagler, Shay Astar, Jonas Moscartolo & Ernie Fosselius, is released in theaters under Disney’s Touchstone Pictures label. The cult classic was shot in Nashville, TN, with special creature effects by the Chiodo Bros., who repurposed some of their Killer Klowns into trolls.
